chipped two front teeth on gym floor

Playing basketball, somehow ended up with my face in the floor (think of a curb stomp) and chipped my top two front teeth pretty much in half. The roots are still in place, just chipped the teeth. I have an appointment for tomorrow morning at 8am. Are they going to give me caps? Is this going to require more than 1 visit? What should I expect??

I did the same thing horsing around in gym class in elementary school, except I broke my front two teeth in half. I also had the roots intact, so I just have caps on them, which have been there for close to 15 years I think. Pretty painless really. The only thing that has changed in my life is that I don't bite into things with my front teeth anymore (apples, taffy, etc...)

Exact same here. I've had mine for about 15 years as well.
 
How did you do a face plant without either putting your hands out to brace yourself or turning your head sideways to protect your grill?
 
this happened to a friend of mine. chipped off half of his tooth, he kept it, and what they did was basically glue it back together. it looks natural, and without looking 1 inch from the tooth you couldnt tell anything was wrong.
 
it was a freak accident, i jumped up to block a shot and got tripped, came down pretty hard. i thought for sure my arms were under me, but next thing I know my mouth was on the floor.

Anyone know how this whole process works?

I knocked mine out on a baseball bat about 13 or so years ago, only took 1 visit to get it taken care of. One came loose a number of years later, and I had that fixed in a single visit as well.
 
Cracked one of my fronts about 13 years ago and they fixed it. That piece broke off a couple years ago and had to get it fixed again. Basically they used a color chart to match the color of my tooth and they put a small plastic sheet (maybe 1.5x1.5") with a hole in over the tooth and they basically formed the missing part of the tooth with an epoxy like material. Waited for it to dry and that was it. Can't even tell the difference, looks completely natural.
 
I chipped both my front teeath about 8 years ago or so. It wasnt a big chip but the nerves were exposed. All the dentist did for me was grind down my two front teeth to get rid of the chipped spot, and make them even again. Then they put a sealer on the two teeth to makes the nerves unexposed. Super easy, nonpainful procedure, and I could eat/ drink immediately.

edit: i didnt see the part where you said you chipped them almost in half......
 
Sue the gym, sue the shoe manufacturer, and sue the company that made the wood flooring... oh and sue the guy that put the flooring in. Oh and sue whoever decided to build he gym in the first place.

I lost my front two teeth in a drunken mishap. Xrays are necessary to determine if you need a root canal or two. I lost like 90% of my teeth so I ended up getting a double root canal and veneers.

They almost always want to do an exam first if you haven't been to that dentist before.
