Chipped core on my AMD Athlon XP 2000

Not sure how I did it but there is a very small chip in my CPU. I was testing a new motherboard with it and the computer booted right up without a problem. I removed the CPU and cleaned the core with isopropyl alchahol. That's when I noticed the little chip along one edge. I reinstalled the CPU onto the same motherboard and now the computer will not boot. I must've chipped it somehow when removing the heatsink/fan.

I bought this CPU from Tiger Direct over a month ago. Their policy is "No CPU returns - Period". The CPU is OEM.

Any chance AMD would replace the CPU for me?

Sorry but you are SOOL 🙁 AMD isn't responsible for user damage, if it had failed due to a manufacturing defect they would be responsible but you obviously chipped it during installation or worse yet got a chipped CPU from TD (did you make certain it was in perfect condition when you first got it?) Anyways, the XP 1600+ is 55$ shipped@Newegg and will almost certainly overclock to 2100+ speeds@default voltage without unlocking it if your board has a 1/5 divider on it.
