chip in core?

I have P3 800 cc0, just got my system all built. It was working when i tested it out for a few sec with retail heatsink. Ive built all my watercooling stuff, use silicone and stuff to seal up mobo (going to use pitler). Just tryed to test system without pitler, just to make sure i didnt damage anything messing with mobo. Only CPU, memory, and video card. When i turn it on screen flickers on, when i turn it off screen flickers off. Nothing comes out though..

Abit worryed, i took the chip out, cleaned off the arctic silver. Looked under bright light, i may have a very very small chip in a corner. all the other corners look nice and sharp and one has very small silver spot on it.
This was the first time ever clamping it down with hold down device, i slowly turned screw like 1/10th turn at a time, and put a little pressure on waterblock to see if it was still able to slide around, slowly kept tightening untill it seemed sturdy. And thats when i turned it on and got nothing.
Are P3's really that easy to crack? I hear about durons cracking all the time, but didn't even really worry about cracking it that easly.

They do crack, I have cracked my a little bit... But your cpu should still be okay.

Not sure if you'd be able to rma it, though.

Yeah, the corner of the core on my Celeron wore down smooth from twisting the Golden Orb on and off so many times. Chip still works fine though.

Hrmm, mabe its my mobo then and not my cpu.
Sucks i wont get access to another socket370 motherboard for like a week to test it on.
