this is my first time as the best man for a Chinese wedding and reception coming up, it's expected that I conduct some games at the reception, an example as well as the only game I remember from a reception was:

bride is blindfolded, and then has to feel the butts of several men and guess which one is her husband (she guessed correctly)

anyone ever been to a Chinese wedding reception and seen or know any games that I can use?

Heh. Do them a favor and don't! Tho, the butt-feeling one may be a bit too risque for a Chinese wedding....one of my cousins had the same game but with hands instead. Still made for lots of laughs.

Uhm, I can't think of any new ones. I know I try to forget them as I definitely don't plan on that happening at my wedding.....

Cho Da Di? (Big/small) Make them sing karaoke?

Put a small apple/banana in the bride's dress and have the guy go dig it back up with nothing but his head! heh :p

you can always play mahjong and if you lose, you can flip the table and say Pok Kai.

Couple of games I've seen is putting balloon in grooms lap and make bride sit in his lap to pop it, usually takes a few hard sits? to pop it, great for laughs.

Another variation on the grab butts is groom tries to pick the right hands.

Another one I've seen is thread the banana through the grooms pants.

That should get you started.

well besides the usual knocking your chopsticks on plates...

one had the bride stand there, and someone would tie a cherry on a string. the groom was blindfolded and had to find the cherry. the catch is that someone is holding the cherry above the bride, usually around her boobs, and moving the string around as he tries to find it. much fun ensues.

always variations on the money dance are good.

i've seen the balloon one too! that was purty funny, but i was probably 8 or 10 at the time.

last couple of weddings i've been to there were no games. boooo

Chinese flash cards. Remembering back when I was in chinese school, it was funny and very competitive. So write chinese characters on flash cards and test everyone in a circle. Basically a spelling-B :p

Same concept, but with kissing. Both the groom and bride played. The bride guessed correctly, the groom did not...

A lame one was hanging a food item on a string and making them grab it with their mouths... only I think they used lobster... and it fell on the floor.

I've never seen that cherry one, but that definitely sounds interesting.

Some that i know, seen, went thro:

1. found some food (chicken head, fish tail, ....etc), cover in dish, pick some to have that say praise (or bad) thing about each other.

2. wear a superman underwear and have he carry her all over the place.

3. show pictures of their story always a good idea. You know PICS always make ppl laugh and some of your guest might related. (high school pics, work place.....)

4. This only works in a big hotel, depend on your location: Video tape the groom holding pics of his bride, go to strangers all over the place (about 10) and tell them: "I marry her today..... Is she pretty?" (you can make up the question) Have the guest sign and bring it back.... Then show the video and the card.

5. Again, chinese food. (depend on how good his system....) Pick something sweet, sour , bitter, spicy for the groom (or bride). Those represent thro different stage of life they will share..... And pick a lot of them so that the purpose of he can not take it. (so the best man can help) or do some punishment.... push up. Or her not able to take and has the groom "save" her. etc etc.

I think you should have the MC do the games. And You, the best man to some dirty work.

- you have a plate of chicken parts. The part the groom picks, he must kiss that part on the bride
- the bride must move a hard boiled egg through the pants (up one pant leg and down the other) of the groom
- the couple are blindfolded and must find each other in the banquet hall
- variation of the pop the balloon. Place the balloon between the couple and they must hug tight enough until the ballon pops
- bride is blindfolded and various men (usually kids) kiss her on the cheek. She must identify husband.
