chinese wedding invitations ...

We looked around SF and Oakland downtown and man are the prices high, it's about $1.30 per card, we're hoping for something around $1.00/card.

Anyone know of any good online stores that might be cheaper?

ouch...how many invites are there? one of my cousins made her own w/ the help of some relatives, they turned out really nice but just time consuming. you should look into that ifyou have relatives who would chip in their time. also, do your own flower arrangements. don't blow money on an expensive cake since half of the guest leave by the time you get to the cake cutting.

we're thinking about 125 invites ... we thought about making it ourselves but didn't want to go through the hassle since we're doing the favors as well ... anything to minimize stress as we get closer to the day. But those darn things are so freakin expensive. $1.30 is only for the really crap type too. 🙁

Is the invite going to be a half Chinese/half English ? That's what we did and of course we have to go to an asian printer for that. Spent $300 on about 275 invites, not too bad.

If you're just going to get English... there's online invitation places... I actually did one of their websites... check out http://www.invetc.com ... they have good deals with Carlson Craft which is a reputable invitations company. Even the store-printers have you choose designs from a Carlson Craft book.

Another great resource is of course http://www.theknot.com ... if they don't have a link, you can ask in their forums... there's tons of activity there.

EDIT>> Oops you said it in your topic title, didn't you ? 😀 Use the forums on theknot.com ... plenty of asian surfers to ask.

I used this place www.h2cards.com because my parents wanted chinese invitation cards for their chinese non-english relatives and friends, think I paid like ~$90 for 100 cards, thats with 2nd day air too. But looks like their 2 lowest priced ones are sold out. maybe you can call them up, since they are in CA too.
