Any chance we'll see more reviews on some chinese tablets. The new dual core chips that are out seem interesting for budget minded people.

Rockchip 3066 - Dual core A9 with quad Mali 400 GPU
AmLogic AML8726-MX - Dual core A9 with multi-core Mali 400 GPU
Reneas MP5232 - Dual core A9 and Power VR (SGX540?) GPU

I wouldn't mind seeing single core CPU reviews like for the Boxchip Allwinner A10 either since they are pretty power efficient and seem to perform pretty well for the cost.

I live in Shanghai and if you go into any of the PC Malls there are huge numbers of 7" Android tablets. Most 8 Gig ones go from $90 to $110 depending on the subset of features they have.

The A10 chipset in particular seems to be quite popular.

Isn't the 'Allwinner A10' a single-core A8? You would have a hard time convincing me to purchase one of those these days...

Edit: Although I would like to see a decent review for one... I recently told someone not to buy one because of the (imho) rather anemic specs... This was for a $200 rebadge though...

It really depends on what you are using the tablet for. 7" is small for screen real estate and the A10 chipset seems to have a mali 400 GPU as standard issue. Many of the machines have 1 gig of DDR3 memory as well.

On Taobao you can get a 8 GIG NAND A10 for about 500 RMB which is basically $80. Almost all of them can plan HD video and have an HDMI port. I bought a Onda VI10 Elite for 700 RMB ($110) and that included a screen protector and a case. I used the following script to add Google Market:

http://www.slatedroid.com/topic/30855-scripts-allwinner-a10-tablets-google-play-script/

When I run benchmarks, the speed looks like it is about a Samsung Galaxy I speed level. The CPU comes up as a Cortex A7 (not the A8) at 1Ghtz (not the 1.2 advertised). there is a newer version of firmware advertised as a 16% speed improvement. Downgraded to 10% improvement, performance would be about 75% to 80% of the Kindle Fire. Since the screen resolution is better, it isn't purely apples to apples on the graphics performance.
