Chinese summer language emersion programs

So I have taken a year of Chinese in college - and I want to actually learn the language properly (I didn't start out properly the first time). Everyone says that emersion programs are the best - I was wondering if any ATOTers have done any good ones?

My Chinese proffesor doesn't think I could place into the ones our school rungs (CET and ACC) - she recommended I just try to apply directly to Beijing Normal University or Beijing Capital Normal University. Any one ever studied at either of these? Thoughts?
 
just go to china. Seriously thats the best way to learn a language. I have a friend who when there for a semester I can get some info for you if you want.
