I say more power to them. Maybe it'll get us here in the US off our butts and doing something in space besides launching communications (and spy) satellites, and farting around in low earth orbit learning how to repair a tin can.

I hope this starts a space race. I really do.
Unless I'm misunderstanding you that race was won in the 60's. If you mean warp drive and planetary exploration I doubt *this* will spark such expensive research and funding.

The days of the space race are long over. What I'm hoping this does is gives the rest of the world a kick in the pants towards finishing the international space station, or get more people working on better means of space flight.

First Chinese in space, wow. I would have been impressed, if this was the 60. Of course, the Russians and Americans could had faked everything for our own amusement ;).

The Chinese are using a ripped off design of the Russian Soyuz spacecraft. No big deal really, it's proven technology but not flashy at all. Of course they wouldn't have the rocket technology or tracking technology if Comrade Clinton hadn't allowed them to both steal our technology and then buy other that was supposed to be classified.

Dear China,

Welcome to the late 1960's. When you get a chance enter the 21st century. We know you regret missing all the cold war fun and having hated enemies and such but it's time to move on and worry more about your economy than wasting money and resources putting people into space. If you really feel the need to show how big your d!ck is then you can join the International space station and take over for the big ball the Russians dropped.

Sincerely,

rahvin

please keep in mind, it's their Communist government sticking its chest out, and I should probably say their brainwashed followers.

What I mean is, a new space race. To like mars or something. And get that ISS done.

Not a bad achievement.

Not many nations even have a space program to begin with.

They should be aiming for mars though, what better way to boast than that? I guess they have neither the technology nor the expertise....but then again, neither did the US when it set out for the moon.

Perhaps the Chinese are more interested in the military applications that a manned space flight program will provide them with, such as constucting a space based weapons platform. I live about 25 miles from KSC and most of my friends and family work there so the Chinese space program is a hot topic around here right now.

Yeah I don't really believe the Chinese are going to space for anything other than stature and potentially military stuff.

Sorry, I just don't trust the [practically national socialist] government. They're really fantastically angry at everyone around them.

Glory to China !!!! The next Superpower !!!!

I wait for the day when Chinese nuke the sh$t out of Americans.

After all, China has 1.25 billion people. US has 250 million.
So some chinese will live to witness what the Americans went through.

Americans like steak. That is what they will be made into if they screw with China.

Already I can see the hate trash Americans have for China, for no reason. War baby !!! Bring it on !!
