Same thing with these LED lights that makers claim they are gonna last 25 yrs yet they came out on market few yrs ago. So nobody have had them for 25 yrs. The story repeats. I remember that CDs were claimed to "last a century"

CDs will probably last a century, HDD will probably last a century or however long their expected lifespan is...problem is, will the format be in favor by then?

Will you actually be able to read the data on those formats one hundred years from now? how much will that cost you if you manage to find a cd player or IDE or SATA device capable of reading a HDD?

Here, I have a wax cylinder etched with a Brahams concerto and I'd really really really like to listen to it... :(
