Chinese site does some gaming test with SMT ON & OFF on Corei7

if amd can figure out how to get there chips to clock as well as Intel I don't think they really need to improve the per clock performance to get back into the game, they just need to get the damn chips to run at similar speeds

All I can do is point you to this thread and this happens to be just Deneb C1 stepping at 4Ghz on AIR 😀

EDIT FORGOT TO PASTE THE LINK 😉 http://forum.coolaler.com/showthread.php?t=191848

So you think they are going to be able to pull a rabbit out of the hat and be able to match a 3.6-4.0ghz Yorkie or a 4.0ghz+ Wolfie?

1.6V on a 45nm process? yeah you can blame "spintel" for that when the chip fries after a month. stable my ass.

by the way, i call shens on that review. ill wait for a review on an approved retail platform.

Oh god we have a new guy in the Video Cards section using the word "nsHitia" and we have a new guy here using "spintell." *sigh*

Time will tell if Deneb at 4Ghz is more stable than your A$$. :clock:

Though I cant understand CHINEZE , I really doubt cpu-z is reading the volts right on that CPU.

still socket AM2, cpu-z can read the voltage just fine.

ill bookmark this post for future lulz.

Lol its not socket AM2 , its running on socket AM2+. 😉

As for as I know its more about cpu-z having support for Deneb , than socket. Its the same way how cpu-z needs to be updated to work on Corei7 properly.

as far as you know? looks like you don't know shit. nehalem handles VID differently and thats why it needs software updates. deneb still handles VID the same way since it is socket compatible, and there's no reason for the motherboards to change their spec for a drop-in replacement.

Dmens is mad he can't reveal i7 info. 😛

*pokes dmens with a stick*

This is definitely true - particularly when your hobby overlaps with your job and you want to be able to talk about things because you think they are interesting. And, yes, I get all of the Nehalem validation updates. It's certainly frustrating to see misinformation and not be able to say anything at all about it.

I see you falling hook line and sinker at the 1.6v overclock, yet conveniantly overlook the screenshot showing 1.648v at idle. Are you sure there's no problem with cpu-z? I too will bookmark this post for future lulz.

But notice that just to be sure and cover all bases he writes:

by the way, i call shens on that review. ill wait for a review on an approved retail platform

In other words: "I don't feel too confident in my arguement that those voltages are correct, so i'm going to say that the review is shens also".

So you have no problem arguing that the 1.6v screenshot is valid, yet the review is shens? Doesn't that seem a little odd to you?

learn to read, im calling bullshit on the overclock. lulz.

the review and the claimed overclock are on two different sites and have nothing to do with each other. 😕

I shouldn't have posted that Deneb link.

Now this thread is more about bashing AMD than discussing whether Nehalem should be your next upgrade.

Lol these spintel followers love to smack AMD for any and every thing. TAKE A BREAK.

Its spinning on both sides IMO< there are no valid reviews of either chip. However, the Intel spins appear to be based more on fact, and I do have a source that backs those up, I just can't prove it due to NDA.

wahhhh 🙁

hate to break it to you but nobody bashed amd. the only thing bashed is a highly suspect stable-on-air overclock claim by some taiwanese guy. it is suspect because of the high voltage.

if some dude claimed a stable 100% overclock at some ridiculous voltage with nehalem i'd bash that too.

Yup that's definitely a JOKE bcz (Pls correct me if I am wrong) as far as I know NO MSI AM2+ or EVEN AM2 board has an option of 1.6v +/- for CPU ,, MAX is about 1.50v +/- 0.05 from what I have read on other forums.

But again I dont own any MSI AM2+ or AM2 board so I could be wrong on that. 🙂
