As a prisoner at the Jixi labour camp, Liu Dali would slog through tough days breaking rocks and digging trenches in the open cast coalmines of north-east China. By night, he would slay demons, battle goblins and cast spells.

Liu says he was one of scores of prisoners forced to play online games to build up credits that prison guards would then trade for real money.

Damn China sucks. I used to advocate labor for inmates over here but don't have an interest in it anymore. Enough are already imprisoned and gov would see them as almost free labor, as they do in China. These are basically state-owned slaves.

They're not slaves, they're replaying debt to society by working. I bet recidivism rate was lower as well busting rocks or whatever.

That'll teach them not to post jokes about the government on twitter.

Will we now see a lot of slackers complaining that their parent's basement is a like a Chinese labor camp?

Or, conversely, will we see the Chinese government set up a program whereby they relieve our hard working Parents of the 'Burdensome Denizen In Thy Basement', by setting up World of Warcraft Concentration Camps??

Put the WoW players in factories for 8 hours manufacturing Hot Pockets and Red Bull, then in a 6x6 cell for another 16~20 playing the game and eating what they made!! It'd be a perfect, Self Sustaining Workforce, totally dedicated to the cause!! :D
