I go for chinese food once a week at this same place. And it never fails, no matter what I order I end up so thirsty the rest of the afternoon. It's like my mouth has cotton in it and no matter how much water I drink it still is dry and I still feel thirsty. What the hell is in that stuff? I don't add any soy sauce or anything....is it the MSG? Actually I'm betting that it is in fact the MSG and that I'm not only getting cancer from that stuff, it is ruining my kidneys and making me suck down water all afternoon like it's going out of style. Damn the chinese and their food....but it tastes soooo good I can't stay away.

I don't think I"m allergic to it. But moderate amounts are harmless?....well if you consider the only bad thing is that you feel like a parched whale in the middle of the desert I can live with that. What's all the fuss over it nowadays, some chinese places are starting to put up signs "No MSG added".

msg is not bad unless you are allergic, even if you are allergic it's just discomfort, no big deal.

could be the fat + salt. if i eat fried food i get very thirsty.

MSG does not cause cancer. There is no medical evidence suggesting MSG causes any problems at all (allergies excepted, but this can be said for anything you are allergic to.. ).

They put the no MSG signs up because at one time the media whipped the public into a frenzy saying MSG caused cancer, so restaurants stopped using it in their food. Some people still think MSG causes cancer, hence some owners still advertise that they don't use it.

You guys should just goto Panda Express or PF Chang's then if real Chinese food is too tough to stomach for you.

Agreed. Have a little of Panda Express's Orange chicken...Actually try a double order of that fried crap and through in a deep friend egg roll as well....that is digestion problems. I'm not having trouble digesting any of it, I just feel like my mouth is a desert.
