Chinese demand Taliban fighters of Chinese citizenship be handed over

China demands return of its terror fighters

BEIJING yesterday demanded that Chinese citizens found fighting for the Taliban in Afghanistan should be handed over to face justice - a demand that will alarm human rights groups and test China's fledgling anti-terror alliance with the United States.

i don't see why it would test the alliance... shouldn't we be glad they're willing to dish out justice to them?

If they want them, tell them to get in there and get the Chinese Taliban members themselves. Why should we do all the dirty work and then just hand them over?

because it takes resources to handle them... think of it as outsourcing...

Remember that the Chinese government promoted and circulated videotapes gloating about the WTC attack and claiming it was our fault (presumably because of our decadence).

Also remember that the Chinese government clearly has expansionist plans as to its neighbors (witness Tibet, at least two invasions of Vietnam since the mid-70s, border wars with Russia, etc.).

I would not be so willing to turn over "Taliban" fighters to China, at least until we are certain these guys weren't planted Chinese agents/forces.

i say give them to the chinese; one less headache for us to deal with and it eliminates the chance for the sympathizers and apologists to cry about letting them go.
