Everybody knows our Internet sux balls. We have literally worse internet options than Romania. The sad part is that the tax payers footed the bill for a nice internet backbone about a decade ago, but instead of ISP's investing in increasing their speed, they invest in new ways to milk every last dollar out of the consumer.

The West's internet is infinitely better than China's because it's not censored. Do you hate freedom or something?

China fluffs all economic numbers. Negative is zero and positive is rounded up.

That is legitimately how they do accounting in China. China is a country of bluffing. Plus, our internet isn't heavily censored.

What's this got to do with freedom? We're getting techologically surpassed. We can't compete in manfuacturing so what is our economy going to be based on in the future? I suppose we do have our guns so we'll just go over there and take everything back. Is that what you mean by freedom?

the day I want to take pointers from China on how to run the internet is the day I'll let Americans tell me what beer should taste like...

also, the company I work for pays an obscene amount of money for a 10Mbps business line in China that acts more like 1Mbps once it hits the great firewall, we pay less for 1Gbps here in Denmark.

True enough but what happens when the censoring changes? Things are changing fast over there. We, the west, need to stop sitting on our laurels.

I'm on the internet as much as the next guy, but I don't even see a point in faster than 50\10. Watch an episode of family guy and whatever you needed downloaded is done. Latency is what needs worked on the most.

They actually aren't changing things fast in regards to personal freedoms. Hu Jintao has increased the degree to which the government cracks down on "unapproved" speech.

Their economy is doing well, especially compared to the rest of the world, but they're not making any strides in terms of censorship, human rights, and so on.

not really, but it beats the shit out of bud light and whatever massproduced pisswater you got across the pond.

Come on, be honest. It's basically the same shit. At this point you're arguing different degrees of shit. It's like saying, "Getting hit by a truck is better than drowning."

Now if you want to talk about GOOD beers, well, both countries have a wealth of microbreweries making a wide range of high quality and delicious beers for all palates. There are over 2,000 craft breweries in the U.S. alone. I don't know how many there are in Great Britain but I'm sure it's a large number as well.

The internet is not what you should be worried about young grasshoppa. Our problem is that our culture doesn't value education as much as they do in other countries like China or India. To make matters worse we are now becoming a socialist nation.

But we should change our focus from rap, drugs and leisure time activities like Xbox. We should also move production back from China to America, pay CEOs no more than 100x what the lowest paid employee makes, and give the difference back to workers to improve the overall economy and create more jobs.

It's pretty much the same massproduced pisswater you get over there since it's all owned by the same corporation more or less. I hate the stuff, but what can you do? People drink it and it's not unique to the US market. Budweiser was very popular when I lived in Hong Kong.
