Chinaflo Quality

i finally recieved my order from jab-tech which included a panaflo h1bx. i replaced my m1a with this since i gave the m1a to a compaq that needed an exhaust. anyway i bought this and was somewhat disappointed in the quality of this panaflo. the tips of the fan blades have a almost melted or torn off look to them and the plastic looks aged with shine spots. the fan runs as loud as i expected and pushes what feels like the proper amount of air, but i decided to email jab-tech about the quality.

i was promptly replied to :))), and they said that its 100% guaranteed not used and they got returns on their l1bx models for the very same reasons. i guess i was just expecting a 'newer' panaflo to be the same as my old m1a. the tach output was what really drew me in, but it seems like a bad trade off for the quality (noise i was expecting - <3 speedfan).

Damn. Looks like my future fan orders will be Nexus or Papst fans... Shame because my previous Japanflos were good. Definitely no Chinaflos for me.

yeah i took a good look at my m1a (though i couldn't find where it was made), whole different world in quality. i may just switch them back and take back my m1a...

I have been using 80mm Panaflo's for some time now.
I have had a mixture of both Japanflo and Chinaflo in L1A, H1A, and U1A with pretty consistant quality.

That said.... I have purchased 1 92mm H1A. It was a Japanflo and was horribly loud and seemed very unbalanced. No matter how much dampening I did, it produced quite a bit of vibration noise. It was completely unacceptable at any voltage.

I know 1 sample is hardly enough to make an informed conclusion, but I have stayed away from Panaflo's larger than 80mm. On the other hand for 80mm models I think they are still the best bang for the buck.

my 92mm m1a japanflo was very good, i just sold the chinaflo to a friend and am ordering a new fan... just deciding on which. i really do need higher airflow mostly because its just getting so damn hot here in vegas soon.

The fans in China are manufactured the same as they are in Japan, same equipment and design so in theory they should be the same. What's probably happening is quality control in China isn't yet up to Japan's standards.

I've gone through a bunch of 80mm L1A's from both Japan and China and didn't notice any differences, both have been great. I'll be working with some 120mm L1A's soon so I'll see how they do.

i think the issue may me more related to the bx series rather than to the country they were made in. i suppose i should order one of the same fan again to find out.
