China launches its first manned space mission, becoming third country to do so.

China Wednesday became the third country in the world to launch a manned spacecraft into orbit, China's state-run television network said. The launch, the first of its kind for the Chinese space program, sent Yang Lewei, a fighter pilot, on a 21-hour trip that will circle the Earth 14 times.

I'd save the celebrations until the successful return of the cosmonaut...

I don't want to see headlines from China like: "Successfull launch! Cosmonaut in orbit, telemtry readings just fine, blah-blah-blah. And in the end: body shows no vital signs".

In the most recent economic analysis, nobody could tell for sure, what's going on in China. A lot of economists say it's a giant on clay legs. Not even the chinese government/analytics could accurately present the data on China development...

That's just the way China is.....always has been...always will be....of course when TR sent "The Great White Fleet" on it's tour and it stopped in China it really messed with the heads of the Chinese...probably made them even more secretive than they were before and they still haven't gotten over it.
