My question is why doesn't COMMUNIST CHINA enter into any diplomatic relations with COMMUNIST North Korea concerning their threats to the region and to the U.S.??

Hasn't NK refused diplomatic talks with anyone except the US and the US alone?

its not a threat to the chinese, at least not as much as to the U.S.
China just wants to sit back and watch how will U.S. handle this

NK = Sh!t.

They have no leverage, no pull and continue to shout loudly about how they'll murder us if we try to invade them. Truth is, the longer we keep quiet and do nothing to them, the more pissed off they make their neighbors and create an even larger quagmire for themselves. They have no economy without foreign aid.

Essentially, they're screwed unless they can produce something they can trade for currency or food. Which is why their trying hard to produce enough nukes to sell to people who couldnt normally get their hands on them.

They are right about one thing though. They are Next on the "To Do" list.

It makes me wonder, though.

Would a second Korean War bring the Chinese into play? It happened last time.

With as much as our military has been cut back, we may not be able to afford taking on NK as well as China. The cupboard is bare, folks.

"We no longer have the power to fight two wars at once. And the North Koreans know it. They are pushing their advantage to the edge."

They have no leverage

Well, I would say the fact that they have nuclear weapons is a fair bit of leverage. If allowed to continue with the ramping up of it's nuclear weapons program, they will likely be able to make 3-5 devices per month from what I have read. Another thing to think about is the effect of NK becoming a nuclear power in the region. If this is allowed to happen, we will likely see a state of brinkmanship set in where Japan, SK, and Taiwan may aspire to have their own nuclear weapons to counter the threat from NK. It will be another arms race of sorts that will likely not be in anyone's best interest.

Another thing to consider is that NK is very adept at making delivery systems for their nukes. The missles they currently have now can hit Alaska, Hawaii, and maybe even the west coast. They already have a missle in development that will likely be able to reach farther into the continental US if they remain unchecked. While any nuclear attack launched from Korea would evoke a immediate response from the US and others and likely turn NK into a hole in the ground, the damage will be done...to us and the Korean peninsula. A normal government would likely see the futility of an attack like this, but a desperate regime like is in place in NK might not care.
