Moe is not the chimp who attacked. Two other chimps escaped from their enclosure and they were the ones who attacked the man.

I am curious to know what Moe was doing during this attack on his owner. They had him for 39 years as a pet prior to his being placed in the shelter.

Yeah, that jumped out at me as well. This story is just one more reason to hate monkeys!

I'm actually reminded of Jane Goodall's "demonic ape," Frodo the chimp. Not only has Frodo killed and eaten dozens of other apes, he beat up the cartoonist Gary Larson and killed and partially ate a human baby girl. Even Goodall calls him a bully, and he seems to me to essentially be a sadistic serial killer.
