It's a good monitor and a good price; though this is pretty standard pricing by newegg for this product. I'd like to know where you see your run-of-the-mill 22" monitors because I'm usually hard pressed to find a reputable location to buy one under $200.
Close to a year ago I picked up a pair of 22" Acers at Best Buy for $190 and sometime around Christmas I got a friend a 22" of similar quality from Office Depot for $180, I prefer BM's for LCD purchases as they don't charge shipping for an exchange do to dead pixels. In the intervening months I've definitely seen better deals at "reputable locations." $200 has become a pretty standard price point for run-of-the-mill 22" LCD's and simply is not hot. If you can find a top of the line, true to life 22" at that price then please post it but otherwise they're just reasonably priced and we don't have a "reasonable deals" forum.
And what you're saying is, that sets the standard for all the pricing in the world all year round.

No, what I'm saying is this isn't a hot price for a run-of-the-mill 22" LCD. I thought I made that clear in every post in this thread.
Got this screen for my dad.
It's good for the price, but viewing angles really suck and case seems flimsy.
Monitor also starts to buzz if you change brightness from default settings.

I just bought an Optiquest Q2201wb from Fry's for $229.99 plus tax minus a $30 rebate, but I will probably take it back. I don't like the colors or the brightness, and text just isn't crisp enough for me. I've been using an old Viewsonic 20" CRT since 2001, and I thought it was time for a change, but I haven't seen many LCD monitors in my price range that don't hurt my eyes.
I bought an Acer AL2216W 22" LCD for my mother last year. It was on sale at Office Depot for $179.99 plus tax, and I thought it was decent enough at that price, so I bought it. Since then, I haven't seen one that seems any better to me (looks like I was lucky). I've been thinking about getting one for myself, but I can't find one for less than $220. (I'd rather buy it from a store than have it shipped to me.)

Try this although it involves a MIR. However, ClubIt is very decent and very reliable both in Rebates and prompt delivery.

That thing appears to be $240 shipped less $30 MIR which seems a bit high.
At the moment the cheapest I can find is this 22" Widescreen LCD Flat Panel Display - Black (LCM-22W2) It's not the greatest but this guy liked it. It's $185 plus ~$15 shipping though I think you can negate that using google checkout.
That said, simply because it's the best price at the moment does not make it hot. A hot deal is a great, amazing deal that you wouldn't want to pass up and the OP's $210 for a run of the mill 22" LCD is not a great deal. It's perfectly reasonable but it's not hot. In the last few months there have been 24" LCD's that do 1920x1200 for $280, that's only $70 more than your 22" that sports a much lower resolution. Now that was a hot deal, shame I missed it....and it's that, "crap I missed it" feeling that tells you something is a hot deal and no one is going to say that about the OP's.
I should really add caveat emptor to that LCD I linked. That said, I consider it about as big a risk as buying the one from New Egg as both have ridiculously crappy dead-pixel policies. I personally have a zero-tolerance policy on dead-pixels and as such only buy LCD's where I can return/exchange them at a BM store.

I bought from eCost once and I never will again. Even if neweggs dead pixel policy isn't the greatest, it is far safer than buying from ecost who has an awful return policy and bad selling practices. Newegg is by far the safer bet in terms of buying a monitor.
The ECost unit is only $10 less than the brand new Chimei (less MIR), let alone it's a re-certified unit w/ 90 day warranty.
The similar CMV-222H is on sale at Newegg for $179.99 free shipping, no rebates.

Yep. I've been using this monitor myself for about a year. It's a decent monitor for gaming and normal web browsing and such, but if you're going to be watching any kind of videos or anything where you're not sitting right at the desk, the viewing angles are pretty awful. I especially notice this watching movies with lots of dark scenes; it can get pretty washed out and hard to see what's going on.
That's sold out. I got one, but now I'm getting buyer's remorse. Anyone in NH want mine before I refuse the shipment?
