It is the only pediatric hospital in Arkansas and one of the largest in the United States. The non-profit health care facility boasts an internationally renowned reputation for medical breakthroughs and intensive treatments, unique surgical procedures and forward thinking medical research?all dedicated to fulfilling their mission of enhancing, sustaining and restoring children?s health and development. Thanks!

EDIT: Sorry I forgot the link and other pertinent information. Very stressful day today.

Honestly I don't see the point of having a gameroom in a hospital. Yes, yes it's for entertainment but you're there to get better not on a resort.

Its for kids. Being in a hospital for an extended period of time is really hard for children.

It's for kids. Easing their discomfort/anxiety is a good thing, and can even help them recover faster.

A gameroom in a childrens hospital helps take their minds off of their illnesses. Not all the children go there for a runny nose. i have spent time in Childrens hospital in Buffalo and there were some pretty sick children there. You know stuff like Cancer and Heart and Physical defects.

I will look it up and vote.

ni4ni if you know any of the staff at the hospital (or feel like looking them up) you should point them to:

Child's Play 2009 will be starting next month, and they can set up a gift registry at Amazon to get books, toys and games. We'll be having a donation drive for Child's Play again here in ATOT too, with donation matching as usual.

Texas Children's Hospital's top floor (16th) is dedicated with a library, classroom and gamerooms for teens and younger kids, oh, and a radio station just for the hospital. It's pretty cool and when you have kids who are basically there most of their lives (cancer or similar illnesses) you understand why it makes sense to have something like it.

I am amazed at the ignorance in this statement. For children who are in the hospital for an extended period of time, wouldn't you rather them have the chance to take their mind off of the situation at least a little bit? A resort??? Living in a tiny hospital room is hell for a child, especially when they are constantly having to be tested, probed, poked, and irradiated. Go spend just a few days in the Childrens' hospital and you will realize what an insensitive prick comment that was.

The hell?

Thread would do better if OP mentioned you can be entered to win an Xbox 360 by signing up to vote. And you can vote 10x a day. Contest ends on October 16th.

This.

Those kids will get some lootz! Remember to bump this thread.

My local children's hospitals [Boston & Hasbro] are too far down the list to win.

Arkansas for the win!

Microsoft could award the game rooms to all of the childrens hospitals, they can afford it. Plus MS would get a nice tax write off.

I'm pretty sure Bill Gates gives more to charity than just about any other filthy rich person out there.

I guess I have to be the one to say it:

you are a fucking short sighted moron.

You should really take the time to visit a childrens hospital to see what goes on.

When your in a situation like that healing the mind is as important if not more so than healing the body and any simple little pleasure idiots like you take for granted are cherished by these kids.

asshole.

Thank you for putting it bluntly where maybe he will understand. I was in the hospital a lot as a child, and activities beyond sitting in a bed getting better really did help.

Voted!
