President Bush will swoop into Boston for a quick fund-raiser this afternoon that could net his campaign $1 million and also draw several thousand protesters, force the closure of a school, and disrupt traffic near the Park Plaza Hotel.

Several groups are planning protests to mark Bush's visit. United for Justice with Peace, an antiwar group based in Boston, is hoping for a crowd of at least 2,000, according to Gavin Sherman, a letter carrier who is on the coordinating committee. The Massachusetts AFL-CIO expects up to 500 people at its "Welcome to George Bush" rally, which will focus on jobs and the economy. Boston-based Alternatives for Community and Environment will be protesting against a proposed federal bioterrorism lab at Boston University, and the Student Global AIDS Campaign will be demonstrating in favor of more federal AIDS funding, employing scythe-wielding Grim Reapers to dramatize its point.

Since you aren't familiar with how commas work,
It says that the fundraiser will
1. net his campaign $1M
2. draw thousands of protesters
3. force closure of schools,
4. disrupt traffic.

Obviously you don't....the comma is placed after protesters, which indicates that the closing of the school is driven by both his fundraiser and the protestors which are speculated to attend

You are fine example of why children need to be at school, and not at home waiting for Bush fundraiser to end.
It says the fundraiser is the cause, not the 4 things that result from it. But even if it was, it's not unexpected, this is planned. The secret service planned to close the streets which would result in closure of the school, so that Bush could have his fundraiser.

Blaming the closure of roads on "Bush", simply because he's Bush is like blaming the hassle of airline security on airplanes. The fact of the matter is that ever since Bush's first motorcade on the way to his inauguration he's had to dodge angry mobs of projectile throwing crybabies. I certainly don't blame him for wanting to distance himself from these violent protestors.

Since you aren't familiar with the word "could" I will define it for you in the context that it is used in this sentence:

2. Used to indicate possibility or probability: I wonder if my long lost neighbor can still be alive. Such things can and do happen.

A further investigation reveals that it is NOT synonymous with the word "will".

Thanks for playing.

Now back to the previous idiocy already in progress . . .

Well, the US secret service thought it was enough of a probability to warrant closing the streets. So it's not like this fundraiser accidentally resulted in closing of the schools. This was known in advance and the decision was made that 500 Bush supporters attending a fundraiser is more important than 1500 students attending school.

You are not president. He is. He should not have run for the office if he was not willing to accept its responsibilities.
