what's the correct course of action to take when someone posts kiddie porn on a message board?

we IP banned the guy, but can we report him to the authories? (FBI? trace the IP and find the local police?). it wasn't outright porn, but it was highly suggestive and highly disturbing.

What do you mean, it wasn't outright porn? If it didn't include nudity or depict sex acts, it's not porn, nor is it legally actionable. Unfortunately I've probably seen more child porn than anyone here (I have prosecuted and defended a number of child porn cases).

Yeah, that really annoys me just because of my handle. Actually the existence of that show annoys me, since I took my handle from Don Vito Corleone. Maybe it's time for a change . . .

and believe me, the girls that work in the abuse department have seen more of this then you can imagine, we are a pretty big company...
