following a link from a link from a link from ATOT i stumbled on what appeared to be a kiddie porn website. obviously i didn't stick around long enough to do research, but the initial page looked awfully bad.

should i alert somebody? is there a website to report this kind of stuff?

that crap is so disturbing, and im freaking thrilled that its in my browser history now. :|

Email the series of URLs to the FBI.

On a side note, I always find it funny that whenever people complain about this they're always upset that it's in their browser's history.

i highly doubt the local cops would do anything about some website that probably hosted in argentina or something.

i was just using browser history as a blanket term. i know how to clear all that stuff, but still, nothing is 100%. would you want that crap hiding on your comp somewhere?

It doesn't hide anywhere. Just delete all offline items and you'll be fine. People are so paranoid.

i dunno about that....that would mean i would have to go back to that website (or atleast the one that it linked from). once is bad enough, but visiting twice?

Just remember...if you report it, don't claim that you even saw anything on the site to the authorities. That will make you guilty of viewing it whether or not you actually wanted to. This was a major point brought up by one of the security councils for us Sys Admins....if we ever suspect someone to have kiddie porn on our server, we aren't supposed to open files to confirm...we're supposed to call first and let the authorities decide.

how else would you rport it then?

it is about 99.99% that it is hosted in a country that doesn't care, so reporting it is probably a waste of time.

but it not like i clicked on the thumbnails or something. i clicked a link to a website, and there it was.

the website that the page was linked off of was setup just like collegehumor. so there was some 'clever' undescriptive title, then the link.

forget about the whole thing and clean out your computer. you think the people that work for the FBI can't find a site you stumbled across?

Are you sure it's child porn? Most people don't really know the definition I've found.

If it does not contain sexual acts, simulations of sexual acts, lacivious display of the genital area, etc. it is not illegal. Nude pictures of children alone is not illegal.

U.S. Code, Title 18, 2256 covers the definition.

it was not a nudist type thing. they were definitely in sexual situations.

Then I would find a way to send it to the FBI.
