Child income tax credit.

So today i was in walmart buying some RCA cables, and i came across this TV setting on the shelf in the back. It was an AS-IS item which they seem to be selling alot of nowadays. It was at least a 25inch if not more, flat CRT. And on it, it had a sign that said "we accept child tax credit checks" 😕

Am i missing something here? Is there something else to this or are they offering to sell me a big screen TV using a tax credit thats supposed to make it easier to provide for children?

For families getting tax credit checks from the government, they will allow them to be used as store credit and many places will cash them in hopes that you spend them at the store. I know walmart is doing this nationwide.

There was a study done which revealed that the most honest thing to do with the money you receive back from the government the child income tax credit was to buy something like a television, a couple of drinks in a bar with you wife's best friend or pullin' the slots in vegas....they are just trying to help.

🙂

The Child IncomeTax Credit is just a return of money that the government stole from you under the guise of the Federal Income Tax.

The govt. isn't giving anyone anything. They are returning money that should never have left your wallet to begin with.

This is one of the many things the feds are doing to stimulate the economy. If everyone puts it under their mattress, sticks it in the bank or even invests it, it won't do any good. If it isn't spent it won't help move merchandise, which lowers inventories and creates jobs.

I don't think the checks are neccesarily supposed to be for children. The US government just decided to gives families with children 400.00 per child to stimulate the economy.

Yep, that's the idea. Plus interest rates are low to discourage placing the money in the banks.

the retailers want you to spend your $400 * X children at their store, home depot is doing commercials about it also

Yeah, I got mine... but it wasn't $400 🙁
It was like $382 or something.... 😕
I guess it's because my income was much lower last year?

We received ours last week; wife stimulated the economy that same week.

Bought me a new camera, Canon A70, and got a good deal on it too.
