i'm in the process of choosing parts to build a new system...i've been looking around trying to decide what case would be good with cooling, but affordable. i happened to notice this cheiftec case over at newegg.com. the reviews look pretty good, and the case is similar to the first one i was considering (antec 180 AMG), but the price is a bit lower. i'm planning on getting an ASUS P4P800 motherboard, p4 2.8C CPU... do you think this case would be a reasonably good buy? i am considering overclocking, but if i do, it wouldn't be anything major... anyway, your thoughts? thanks in advance.

The Antec chassis are very popular with a few manufacturers, e.g. chieftec, using it. You will find that the case frame is identical to the antec case. The only difference that I know of is that the chieftec case is made of aluminum while the antec case is made of steel. The aluminum equates to a lighter case overall. The outside bezel on the chieftec is virtually identical to the antec case. I think the Antec AMG has a metallic paint job on it. In summary, these Antec, Chieftec cases are very popular and is a time proven design. You can probably find a lot of reviews on the net regarding the said cases.

ive used 2 of those cases (so far the windowless black ones) in 2 pcs ive built, one being my dad's, sitting across the office over there.

they are definitely nice cases to work with. great airflow, TONS of room. Im about to buy one myself.
Recommended one to my good friend, he loves it. Painted the side too, heheh...

You know theres a cheaper version on Newegg too, its the exact same thing. Look in the Chieftec section of cases. Comes with a window now too.

The Allied/Foxconn PSUs aren't known for their quality, but the "True" 450W unit is getting good user reviews on newegg - look in the PS section for the reviews. The PSU in the pictures of the case isn't the same as the Foxconn listed in the PSU section. I would get this clarified prior to ordering. BEWARE!
