surprised the student was not suspended for that.

though the principal told them to delete it. smart move to send it to her father first.

I feel sorry for the teacher.

Having to resort to stealing simply because the school district won't pay a living wage, very sad.

teacher was placed on administrative leave, probably with pay... my guess is that she's not getting fired and the union will protect her.

she'll probably walk away with a note in her file or some such bullshit.

Teachers make good money. We all hear about how underpaid they are, and maybe they are considering the scope of work, but they still bring home decent cash. They certainly aren't impoverished.

This is probably what happened to my Gameboy Advance in Elementary school. My teacher had us leave our bookbags on the bus so she could watch them while we joined another teacher's class for field day.

I came back and my GBA was gone. My mom whipped my ass cause she told me not to take it to school and I did it anyway.

Be prepared for "teachers realistically work 80 hour workweeks year round" complete with users explaining how their wives stay late at school every day until 10pm working hard to swallow all the loads.

If I were the student, I would be somewhat worried about criminal charges and/or a civil suit under California's disorderly conduct/eavesdropping statutes. Might come down to whether the locker room qualifies as a "dressing room" or whether the teacher had an expectation of privacy there.

Probably won't happen, but it certainly looks like it could.

She'd get the backing of all the internet if this went down and the school or county doesn't want that kind of bad PR.

I guess 45-50k a year for 80+ hours a week is a living wage for you.

Why is nobody saying anything about the principal telling the student to delete the video? Destroy evidence? What for?

45-50k/year is a living wage just about everywhere in the country.

if a gym teacher is incapable of completing her job in a timely manner, perhaps she should learn how to work smarter instead of longer.

We're not talking about everywhere in the country, we're talking about Cali. BTW I'm not condoning what the teacher did in anyway whatsoever, I just find it retarded when people claim that public school teachers are well paid or overpaid for the little bit of work they do.

Yea, that's good money. If you're teaching because you want a sweet paycheck, you're in it for the wrong reasons. You teach because that's what you want to do, and you want to make a difference in the world.
