Damn it mother nature just stab'd me in the back!

I doubt weight in the back trunk would help with theses tires! ***** i need a beater and ***** i need a job.
Cliffs:
Mustangs suck for winter!
Dont drive your light end RWD with non winter tires in a snow
Oh and i didnt know the brakes clunking and vibration means ABS is kicking in. LAWL
/thread

If your brakes make the clunk clunk sound than that means the ABS system kicked in. Otherwise your wheels would have locked up when you skided.
Edit: This way you can at least control the direction you skid in.

I hope this is a joke. If not, you really shouldn't be driving at all.

Nope, not a joke @ all. It is my 1st car though and 1st snow storm trying to get it home w/o fish tailing into someone elses car. I didnt say i couldnt handle it, but it was a strange. Only car i drove in the snow was an automatic v6 and it was easy as pie compared to this car.

Glad I finally got the tire replaced on the Subaru.

Damn you Streets and Sanitation Dept.!

Sell the Mustang and buy a cheap beater and some decent tires or stay home.

edit: Okay, okay... First car, first snow... You need to pull into a big parking lot and experiment but what you really need to do first is to go to TireRack.com and price out a set of snow tires and steel rims. Then shop around...

Or just stay home or take public transportation. Even if it takes 2 hours one way you're only doing it for a couple days. It's the price of owning a car like that.

This is why I got my liscense in the Dead of Winter. Anyway, spend $200 and get Snow Tyres. Makes all the difference in the world. If you can only afford 2, put them on the drive wheels. These things should be law in snowy places.

I drove in your Chicago snow a few years ago on St. Patty's day weekend. Driving in Chicago snow is a breeze, there are no hills like here in Tennessee. You may want to take the train or bus if you can't handle the flat ground.

You should sell that car before you wreck it.

Naw, im just going to park it for the winter like mostly all stang owners do. When i left home it wasnt snowing @ all. When i left class it getting down out there wit hthe white stuff. I can drive it just fine on dry weather or alittle wet, but when the street was filled with snow/slush its undriveable. Don' think this happens to just me b/c im reading on the mustang forums and this happens to mostly all stangs. They go sideways in snow and loose traction so im not the bad driver. Its the point the car shouldnt be out there w/o snow tires in a storm or out period. Its parked for now so i will not wreck it.

So, true. Its a big price to pay but its worth it when its hot out in the summer =) Yep, i took the bus already acouple times before i got the car, so it will no problem.

Snow tires are your friend. I just put some Blizzak WS-50 tires on my car, and I no longer fear for my life in the snow. 🙂 It's a good idea, especially with a RWD car with a light rear.

Going on my 7th year with Blizzak's in a 300hp TransAm in Milwaukee. Winter tires make all the difference in the world.

Driving home saturday night, around midnight...tried to change lanes on the highway (far right lane had too much snow, ironic as it may be) and ended up spinning out, 360-ing and then hit the median 3 lanes over on the nose of the car.

poop.
