Cool, you are in a weird spot. The area you are in pretty much shuts down at 5pm, so you will have to venture out for fun stuff.

Ok, that helps to know. We rented a car so I think we'll be alright on that front especially since we're both pretty used to that due to the area we live in. :)

AHA!!! now that is where you are _wrong_!!!

there are lots of theaters (www.broadwayinchicago.com) with plenty of musicals and things to do in that respect. my girl loves musicals.

highly HIGHLY recommended (as the most awesomest musical ev0r) : wicked

tickets are going to be expensive since they are sold out for the rest of the run. but they are, well worth it.

The cheapest tickets I could find were like $250 per seat. Not really economically available for this trip based on cost of room, rental car, Geja's Cafe, city passes, etc for other stuff we are doing.

I do really want to take her to that sometime though. Maybe in another city.

the beach along sheridan in evanston. Granted, you have to walk a little ways to get there, but it's beautiful

I've gotten rubbed the right way many times there

You won't need a car to get to fun stuff...it'll be a fun walk or a cab ride.....

That's really far from where they are staying.

I say skip Wicked...but, on a budget get tickets to a Second City show.

there are other musicals such as "chicago" that are running where tickets run along the lines of $50, or if you have a student id and show up 2 hours early, $15 each.

Aren't you the guy that was looking for Super Dawg??

yes. she wanted to go there while we were there.

Mmmmmmm Superdawg, best place for a dog in the city. Plus Maurie and Flaurie (the names of the hotdog statues) are just so cool! I highly recommend Superdawg. PM me if you have more questions.
