Chicago Folks - Need help

I'm trying to find out what the most romantic spot in Chicago is in mid-February. Yes, yes, I know it varies for everyone and it is the cold, rainy, windy part of the year, but I still need to know.

It's freezing cold even in the middle of July. People are forced to huddle together for body heat.... Oh! I see where you're going you sly dog.

..there is also the united center(bulls stadium) area. there is lots of nice architecture in the surrounding area and beautiful parks 😉

..stick near the lake or michigan avenue
 
Okay, I have to pretty much agree that you should stay near the lake area.

There's a little river walk that starts when you cross the river at Michigan Ave. When it's warm, it's definitely one of the most romantic spots in Chicago. The effect will be probably be lessened when the fountain is off, and the colored lights probably not turned on. But the river is still there, and that's the most important part.

Of all the museums downtown, i've found the Adler planetarium to be the most romantic. Mostly because they have two different types of sky shows where you sit in the dark next to your date. Gotta go, i'll update if i think of anything else.

The ice skating is also a romantic thing to do at millenium park downtown.
 
Shedd Aquarium, Art Institute, Signature Room (restraunt at the top of the Hancock building, expensive though), etc...
 
Nothing beats getting the menu presentation at Mortons. When a girl sees that Lobster tail, they just melt.

I agree. Nothing like the romantic soundtrack of dogs barking, car alarms going off with the occasional staccatto of heavy arms fire. Def beats a nice warm fire with blankets anyday.

If you're talking food, something like Italian Village, Gene & Georgetti's (probably got the names wrong, but the phonietics are right), Trader Vic's @ the Palmer House, Chicago Pizza & Oven Grinder (*very small place*, plan on waiting), Morton's is OK, expensive, and no real thrills ...The 95th (restaraunt at the top of the Hancock Tower).

Out in the 'burbs - Wheeling - Tuscanay, Cafe Lucci (*the Best* High falootin' I-talian in the city), The Blackhawk (aka Don Roth's), Pete Miller's (original Pete's is in Evanston .. killer red meat - steaks bigger than your head), Bob Chin's (also not nevessarily romantic, but excellent seafood by any standard).

Pizza - Thin Crust: Gino's, Pizzaria Uno, Pan / Stuffed: Nancy's, Pan - Lou Malnatti's (the sausage pizza has a single slice of sausage - if you get a 14" pizza, it will have a 14" wheel of sausage covering the top)


There are (may be - check with the concierge desk) some Dinner cruises leaving from North Pier - if the lake is frozen, they tend to stay in the breakwater.

Navy Pier has some places.

The Shedd Aquarium is nice, the Art Museum is nice, Water Tower Place, Druary Lane theater, The Blue Man group is still playing, "Wicked" - Oz before Dorothy dropped in, is playing, there might be something up at the Opera, Chicago Symphony might be playing ...

See if your local library (or book store) has the Friday additon of the Chicago Trib: that usually has "everything" that's going on in Chicago for the next couple weeks.
