I think it's way too early to judge how well a team is doing. Yeah, i admit they ddi pretty bad out there today against the pirates, and maddox didn't have a great game. But i have no doubt that the Cubs just had a rough start and will have a winning season this year.

Why hasn't someone found him and killed him yet? I'm sure there are plenty of Cub fans crazy enough to do it.

Maddox = teh sux0rz now that he's not on the Braves.

Glavine and Millwood walked the same path (well Millwood doesn't suck, just not as good imo :))

I'm sure he's still in the Witness Protection Program....

As for Maddox, don't expect much from him. He had many good years and was a truly amazing picture but he's at a point in his career where you'll be lucky to get 6 good innings from him. His M.O. last year with the Braves was to get roughed up the first couple of innings, settle down, then leave somewhere between the start of the fifth and end of the sixth inning. It looks to be the same way this year through two starts.

naw, if it was on the east or west coast, they'd kill him. the midwest fans are just out there to have a good time.

plus he's probably hiding out in florida.

This isn't just the Midwest, this is Chicago. You obviously have no idea how much some Cubs fans want to win the world series.

If my team had their best shot at a WS since 1908 (or is it 1918? ) and some geek got in the middle of it I'd be pissed enough to kill :p

maybe there's a little freakish death cult that's out there to get him, but out of myself and the 20 or so of my friends who usually get season's tickets we've not met a single person who wasn't pretty much out there as an excuse to get drunk.

I'm sure Al Capone was just looking for a good time on Valentine's Day, 1929....being an easy-going midwesterner and all. ;)

You do realize they lost 2 more games after that night, right?

Maybe if the Cubs would stop worrying about finding scape-goats and play some ball they would have won.

Glavine is now 2-0 in the season so far and he's looked really good. He could be up for a huge season after last year's disasterous performance... of course having better defense in the form of Cameron, Matsui and no Cedeno sure helps.

Yeah, but that seems to be kind of where the whole thing came apart. Hell, I want to blame him and I'm not even a Cub fan :p

the defense behind him is the reason i picked him late in my fantasy draft. mets defense was a joke last year. glavine should put decent numbers up. not cy young caliber but 16 wins is very possible with an era hovering around 3.4
