Those that live here and should be obvious by my threads that this city is worse than New Orleans on corruption.

Chicago Called Most Corrupt City In Nation

University of Illinois at Chicago professor Dick Simpson, who served as alderman of the 44th Ward in Lakeview from 1971 to 1979, has found that Chicago is the most corrupt city in the country.

He cites data from the U.S. Department of Justice to prove his case. And, he says, Illinois is third-most corrupt state in the country.

I live here and I'll agree it's pretty damn corrupt. Nepotism (which isn't exactly corruption but I tend to merge the two somewhat together) and "who you know" is about all that matters...

I have a friend who lives very close to St Louis, MO which has a fine assortment of good medical facilities. The state of illinois is paying for her disabled son's medical care. They force her to send her son to Chicago to see a specialist because they want to spend the money in-state. It takes like 5-6 hours to drive to Chicago and probably everything on earth costs more in Chicago. You just cant fix stupid. Just the travel time to and from Chicago, whether you take a train or drive either means you are traveling for 10 houre plus you have to have more time for the appointment and tests. So you are also looking at having to pay for a hotel one night.

Dave I don't understand it, you hate Republican's. Chicago and Crook Co. has forever been big Democrat territory, longtime been Dem controlled and run. As such, it is undoubtably a utopia, it's the cleanest, safest, most affordable place in the entire world, next to San Fran.

How could you have any problems with it?

Beats me. Without the scenery and natural environment of San Fran though, which pulls in lots of tourism $$$, Chicago/Illinois is a great example of how perfection Dem control is for the rest of the country.

For example, I know for a fact that our infrastructure here is perfect. Pollution is zero. Debt....what debt??? Surplus all the way baby. Taxes on the 99% are low, taxes on the 1% are super high, leading to just...more perfection. Crime is zero. Generations of welfare families...zero.

I can't think of one wrong thing about Chicago/Crook Co., not a one. Thanks Dem's for showing us how awesome you are!!!:thumbsup::thumbsup:

Can't be. It's not in a Red state.

On the contrary, IL is a very red state. Cook County and St. Claire County just fuck it all up. Outside of the two corrupt bungholes of the state (Chicago and East St. Louis), it is very red. I know what you meant though. ;)

Also, it shouldn't be surprising that these same two cities (plus Peoria) happen to have their own dedicated election boards outside the county election boards. Kinda screams corruption right there.

Having done business over most of the country at one point or another I'm voting NJ. Most big cities have some lever of corruption / shenanigans but I've never encountered entire state that's rotten to the core (except NJ).
