Chhipset CPU supported = Motherboard support?

Trying to confirm. If a mobo's chipset (i945P) supports a particular CPU, won't any motherboard for that chipset support it?

As long as the FSB speed is there, and HT is not a factor, why wouldn't it?

Case is a mobo that adverts "PentiumD" support but only lists a few of them in the CPU support chart...just not tested all of them?

No, the PentiumD has a wide variety of different requirements and not all motherboards meet the requirements for all the various ones.
