Chewy treat a danger to black lab ?

I was visiting a black lab / doberman mix yesterday, he's about 2 years old and very bouncy. Anyway, he is typical black lab size, and I brought a medium sized dog bones for him. It was the type you find in a super market that's made of rawhide (I believe) and is quite hard. I would say it was about 4 inches long.

He was tossing it around and sh!t, what I'm worried about is that if he chews it down he might try and swallow it or something, as it's not overly huge, and possibly choke. Any ideas ?

Thanks guys

The problem with those rawhide things is mainly with constipation. If they ingest way too much of it, it can plug them up and potentially hurt/kill them. IOW, don't give them an unlimited supply of them.

A big choking hazard is corn cobs. Dogs really really like corn cobs, but they can choke to death on them.
