Chevy will begin selling electric vehicle conversion kits in the second half of 2021

I think it would be very cool in my 72 Wagoneer 4x4. I do wonder if it bolts up to a transmission or the module replaces both the engine and trans? with the right gearing the low speed torque would be great. we wont be driving it massive distances, would probably be trailered to Moab and back for example. plenty of roof space for some solar for a few extra miles as well. It looks like the bolt battery would fit under the body with the lift. I would like to see a more modular battery set up, like the volts modules that could be added/arranged in different ways.

The Chevy kit provides an electronically controlled 4 speed automatic transmission that interfaces with the rest of the original powertrain. The kit actually replaces the engine, transmission, fuel system, and exhaust system with conversions for hydraulic braking and steering, an electronic interface for the controls, and a cooling system for the battery.

The 1977 Blazer K5 poster vehicle just has a battery pack dropped in the back, which sucks. However, it is also just a proof of concept:

What remains to be seen is if they will actually sell them to end users or not. I wouldn't be shocked if they only sell through some sort of 3rd party "certified installation dealer network" or other such nonsense which will make the whole thing pointless.

Though, I do have to say that E-10 conversion concept from 11/2019 is NEAT:
