Chevy Prices Malibu From $18,995...$20,995 for LS, $23,495 for LT

It doesn't matter if it's a new design, it still has the stigma that the previous Malibu left, so you can predict horrible resale value. It's just not worth the price they're starting it at.

Puhlease. That's right in Camry/Accord territory. Sorry GM, but only your rental fleets are gonna be ponying up for that thing!!

It's also the new model based on the epsilon platform.. I wouldn't be so quick to judge it.

They should have changed the name of the car (like they did with the Cavalier). Everyone associates Malibu with cheap rental fodder nowadays even though they do have good JD power ratings. Resale value is also in the crapper for these things...especially compared to the Cam-cords
you didn't factor in the standard $2,000 rebate

General [REBATE HEADQUARTERS] Motors 😛 No wonder their profits were down this past quarter while Toyota and Honda were up

I agree, I think they need to change a few names. What puzzles me is why they changed the name of the Grand Am after it sold so well since the new body style came out.

I seem to remember seeing some local dealer were advertising 03 Malibu for around $13k after rebates + incentives.
Pretty good price but I'm not touching Malibu with a 10 foot poles, unless it's a rental. Malibu = Rental !
