Chessmaster - how to make Win95/98/ME games run on W2K?

Can anyone tell me how to get an old Win95 game to run on W2K or XP? I read something about a "compatibility mode" in XP that allows older Win95/98 programs to run ok, but the system I'd really like to install it on is my W2K machine - does W2K have a similar "compatibility mode" available, and if so, how do I get to it?

If there's no way in hell I'll ever get it to work, does anyone have any recommendations for a chess program that does run on W2K? Even the latest Chessmaster, CM 8000, doesn't run on W2K. :-(

Thanks,
Jason

Goto Windows Update,(http://windowsupdate.microsoft.com) the Application Compatibility patch should show up there. Once installed right click on the program's short-cut and pick properties, there should now be a compatibility tab. Just pick Windows 98 from the dropdown list :)
