Vodka will mix tolerably with most things, i don't think it should be

To me a Vodka that needs mixing to be drinkable isnt worth drinking, and cheap Vodka tastes terrible, higher end Vodkas are quite tasty and refreshing

Sugar w/ vodka, or any alcohol will create an insulin spike (or something) and speed up the delivery of alcohol to your bloodstream--and from my experience delivers a better buzz. I don't mind drinking vodka straight up, but it definitely affects the way it's delivered.
