VP Cheney refuses to back down on his remarks about Pelosi playing into the hands of Al Quida by not backing Bush's surge offensive in Iraq saying

" I didn't question her patriotism. I questioned her judgement. You also have to be accountable for the results. What are the consequences of that? .... "

So Dick thinks that Pelosi should be "accountable for the results".

When is Cheney going to step up and take responsibility for the results of initiating the Iraq war by resigning. Or is accountability only stuff for other folks besides the VP ?

Yeah, I can't believe he said that. Wow, shocking- the Vice President supports his own policy at the expense of the opposition Speaker.

It's shocking that this VP is publicly holding anyone responsible for anything.

When his own policy results in a FUBAR like the Iraq problem maybe some listening and thinking is in order, oh wait this is Cheney ... thinking not required.:D

2-23-2007 Obama ridicules Cheney's Iraq comments

AUSTIN, Texas - Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama ridiculed Vice President Dick Cheney on Friday for saying Britain's decision to pull troops from Iraq is a good sign that fits with the strategy for stabilizing the country.

Obama, speaking at a massive outdoor rally in Austin, Texas, said British Prime Minister Tony Blair's decision this week to withdraw 1,600 troops is a recognition that Iraq's problems can't be solved militarily.

"Now if Tony Blair can understand that, then why can't George Bush and Dick Cheney understand that?" Obama asked thousands of supporters who gathered in the rain to hear him. "In fact, Dick Cheney said this is all part of the plan (and) it was a good thing that Tony Blair was withdrawing, even as the administration is preparing to put 20,000 more of our young men and women in.

"Now, keep in mind, this is the same guy that said we'd be greeted as liberators, the same guy that said that we're in the last throes.

I'm sure he forecast sun today," Obama said to laughter from supporters holding campaign signs over their heads to keep dry.

"When Dick Cheney says it's a good thing, you know that you've probably got some big problems."

Not so much. More like the commentary of an out-of-touch retard who takes zero responsibility for his own fsck-ups. He's a Scooter Libby away from a federal indictment. He was completely wrong on Iraq and continues to be. Why the F anyone still listens to what Cheney has to say is beyond me. How many times does one man have to be wrong before his moronic propaganda stops making the daily news?

another well thought out, detailed and insightful post by sandorski. keep 'em coming! ;)

It was actually right on the money. Cheney is floating at 20ish approval rating, and that probably coincides with the least intelligent portion of our population fairly closely.

Do you support Cheney and this administration? If so, why?

Heh. It was Cheney and Bush who played into the hands of AlQ when they invaded Iraq... the whole adventure is already swirling around in the porcelain bowl, so it's imperative for them to shift blame elsewhere... It's unlikely that the surge will work even if Pelosi acted as cheerleader...

The election of 11/06 was a clear and unmistakable message to GWB&co that congress needs to be consulted. The surge plan is just a political ploy to retain control.

If we are going to have any hope of a stable mid-east and a stable Iraq---its going to require national unity--how can we expect congress to blindly follow something they are not even consulted on? Even the very narrowly divided Senate may soon totally rebel as more and more Republicans abandon the President.---a binding resolution and strong laws will come soon if GWB&co. don't get real.

Cheney appears to be divorced from all reality---and will be increasingly totally ignored by the mainstream American public. Soon Cheney will be the object of total ridicule.---but will continue to derive inner strength as he speaks to ever smaller numbers of handpicked worshipers.

he occupies a different reality than most americans. his buddies have made huge fortunes from the iraq invasion. his own children or the children of the people he mixes with would never go to war let alone be killed in iraq. from his perspective, it is all good, perhaps.

There are only three ways to hold Dick Cheney accountable---either impeachment or by sending Cheney to the Hague to stand trial for his role in war crimes. Or to try Dick Cheney for
the various corporate chicanery he is probably guilty of domestically. Ongoing congressional investigations may uncover the needed evidence.

I certainly hope that those considerations enter some of Dick Cheney's nightmares----the comeuppance of Dick Cheney would be cathartic to our national soul. He would look good in a striped suit---and his facial expressions would finally fit the festive mood.

For now we must settle for just using him for comic relief as his national rating and credibility sink from the very low to negative numbers.

And for a real hoot---Cheney still thinks Rummy was the best secretary of defense ever-----yup stand aside Baghdad Bob----Dick Cheney now makes you look credible by comparison.

Cheney is surrounded by ex-socom goons. You'd end up dead if you got too politically successful trying to remove him from office.

Mad Rat---you forget something----Cheney has really busted the army---and like Vietnam its going to take the armed forces of this country 20 years or better to recover from the damage and stinking thinking Cheney and his neocons buddies have inflicted.----right now quite a few members of the armed forces would love to see Cheney pay the price---I don't think they would let a few ex-socom goons protect Cheney from the fate he has so richly earned.---if DC Dick tried to use them to protect himself---many military types would shoot them down.

When and if they come to frog march Cheney out of the white house---it will be for excellent cause.----will Cheney be man enough to shoot himself is the only question--or will he lack the guts?

Unlike Dick Cheney---our armed forces members do understand a thing or two about the constitution they take an oath to uphold.
