Chenbro vs. Aspire

Hi. I originally had this post in the General Hardware forum, because I didn't realize there was a forum for cases. Thus I have moved this post here...

I am looking at getting a case for about $100 Canadian. (That would be about $80 US). I have narrowed the choices I have available in my area to two: The Aspire X-Dreamer II or the Chenbro Xpider Original. They both cost around the same. Which case would you guys recommend?

I like the following things about the Aspire Xdreamer II: 6 Front LEDS, 2 UV LED Fans w/ Laser-cut grills,
and 1 big side window so I can make sure all the cables are plugged in properly without opening the case.

I like the front panel design of the Chenbro more though (and I love the tool-less features), however, it only comes with 1 fan. Also, I would have to buy a cold cathode lighting set because there are no LED fans included. Futhermore, there is no reset button, which kind of worries me. The side window also looks nice, but it is really obstructive from seeing the inside of the case. I also heard that window is not really secure, since it is being held by double-sided tape.

I am having trouble deciding between the two. Anyone got any advice on either of the two? Which one is the better buy? The Xdreamer II has nice "wow" LEDs in the front and a big window. The Chenbro has the cool tooless features and a good looking front bezel, but has some shortcomings with no reset button and a weakly secured window.

I was also wondering if it was possible to "light up" the front bezel grill of the Chenbro by placing cold cathode lights behind the air-intake mesh. Is there enough room to do this and will the light show through the grill?

Thanks in advance for the help!

The last I knew, Newegg doesn't ship to Canada (I think one of the Canadian mail-order vendors is related to Newegg)... The Aspire models that are identical to Antec/Chieftec etc. models are pretty good - many of the others are kind of flimsy (e.g. X-Dreamer II). I'd go with Chenbro Xpider (aka Gaming Bomb) - they don't do flimsy! There is a reset switch (see the downloadable manual), just not in an obvious place. Chenbro has been selling to us techie types for too long to be leaving that out! And according to the manual, the window is held in place with push-pins, not tape...

Damn Newegg doesn't believe in shipping to Canada! (jk) =)

Where is the reset button on the Chenbro? I had initially thought that the user holds down the power button to reset (some cases do), but I asked my local computer seller to look for a RESET_SW cable on Chenbro to plug into the mobo. He said there wasn't one.

Well, I guess it would have one on the back...*cough PSU cough*. =)

Thanks for the info Zepper! I have read the downloadable manual...so there is a RESET_SW cable for the mobo, but how do you reset it? Do you hold down the power button?

No. Holding down the power button allows you to turn off the system in case Win locks up. They put a (usually 4 sec.) delay (sometimes selectable in the BIOS setup) on the power button because if it was immediate off, it would be too easy to accidentally cut power. I always set mine to the 4 sec. delay in the BIOS.

Sorry, I found out the one model of the 611 series that lacks a reset switch is the 61166 (aka Gaming Bomb or Xpider). Luckily it is easy to remedy the situation with any momentary contact switch, some wire and a drill bit.

I was at a computer show a couple weeks ago. I was checking out the interior construction of the Chenbro spider case and I have to say that it was top notch.
