The manufacture of Green Plastics come to mind. I had done a research paper on it earlier, I can send it to you if you wish.

// You can download it here.

<< does green platics have anything to do with football shoulder pads? >>

In a very indirect manner... yes. It is just an alternate method to the conventional way of plastic manufacture.

<< hmm...how bout how chemistry is involved in car engines??...could some explain that? >>

dude, i said you could do how a catalytic converter works on a car.... it filters out dangerous compounds from your exhaust to keep the ozone longer

Do you do any cooking?

Lots of chemistry involved, it's not too orginal but should be easy to find numerous examples.

A catalytic converter does not "filter out stuff to help the ozone".

A catalytic converter uses oxidation and reduction to take harmful gases (CO and NO2) and "convert" them into less harmful gases such as CO2, N2, and O2. There is no filtering involved.

I was just kidding about the digestive system.. Our digestive system is waay too complicated and you'll regret doing a project on it.

Do you drive or operate a lawn mower? I recommend doing it on an internal combustion engine.

Gasoline mist and air is taken into cylinder, compressed and ignited.

Gasoline reacts with air to form water vapor and carbon dioxide releasing heat in the process. The heat from chemical reaction(combustion) expands the combustion product and pushes the piston down and turns the crankshaft.

And you can present about how a four cycle engines works.

Intake, compression, power stroke and exhaust.

No problem, I didn't intend for that to sound mean. :)

Sorry if it did.

hmm, semiconductors are a gray area, there's more electronics involved... (well semiconductors oughta be a whole branch of science unto itself), but theres alot of chemistry involved in the manufacturing of semiconductors. How 'bout that?!?!?

Great idea drekce!
