I've been given this formula: In3[In2Cl9]

How would you interpret this? what's confusing me is the use of brackets, so i'm not sure how to go about finding the molar mass of this compound.

thanks in advance

The brackets are just denoting a section of the molecule. Most likely this is meaning the stuff in the bracket is a descrete part/bonding unit and the stuff outside the bracket is attached for ionic interactions/stabilization/to make the salt. To compute the molar mass you simply need to add up the MW (5*Indium + 9*Chlorine).
