Chemical to remove lense coating.

I have a camera that I has 4 very noticable rub scratchs on the lense coating as a result of a design flaw. I would like to take off the lense coating and deal with the color correction on my computer software. The glass is not scratched it is the coating. I have nothing to loose as camera is of no use this way.

Doesn't sound like a good idea...I'm sure that any answer will depend on what the coating is made from too.
