Chemical smells are not fun

My apartment complex decided to resurface my bathtub today. Now we can't shower or use the tub until tomorrow afternoon. The smell of the chemical is causing me to have trouble breathing.
To make matters worse, my 80 yr old Grandmother, Mother, and Brother just flew in today to spend a few days with me.

I don't know what to do. I want them to accommodate me for the night, but it isn't looking like they will.

Has anyone else had this issue or something similar before? If so, what happened.

Thanks!

what did they use to resurface? We were relocated at the apt complex's expense during mold remediation, this is a bit different.

They didn't tell me what kind of chemical it was. I know that it is something that is foamy and it fills in any cracks or imperfections. It smells awful, like really strong glue.

It's probably that expanding foam. See if anyone you know has a Vornado and point it out the window. They're awesome.

We had a fiberglass/poly-plasti-something tub repaired a couple of years ago. One of my wonderful adult children cracked it and put a hole in it, but didn't bother to tell me for a couple of days. The smell was horrible...but it had to be repaired or replaced, and $150 was a LOT cheaper than replacing the entire tub/shower unit. tub, shower walls all one piece...cheap fucking contractors) Do you have a bathroom "fart fan?" If so, close the door and run the fan. If not, you're gonna have to either suffer, or leave until tomorrow while the epoxy dries.

I'm pretty sure it's against the rules set out in your lease to have 3 people spend the night with you, so I wouldn't bother them about it.

You can know that without seeing the lease? You're pretty good...

best to use those window fans... i use the rectangular ones with two fans and a plastic baffle thing to fill out the rest of the space...then just have several windows pump air into the house continuously. works pretty well, have the air leave through the bathroom area. course assuming u got a window there.

hey man. that domain name is taken --

http://fartfan.com/

now, that's what i call Cyber-Squatting !

or, a good 80 mm case fan stuck in a 4" x 20 feet piece of
laundry hose duct.

don't want someone fainting from the fumes. then you'll
have a bigger mess.
