We had new carpet installed two years ago and we are going to have our first cleaning done. It has been my experience that most carpet cleaners get the carpet too wet and leave to much reside/soap in them.. has anyone tried this ChemDry outfit and how did you like it?

ChemDry uses a stupid process to clean carpets. Get a company that uses some sort of hot water/steam extraction method.

Edit: I cleaned carpets for a few years while I was in college. Yes your carpet is supposed to be wet, yes it will take a couple days to be 100% completely dry. Keep your heat at least at 70 or your windows open and it will dry faster.

Do not use chemical.

1. the process do not lift dirt off the deep carpet or backing.

2. the chemical is terrible to inhale.

I worked for a carpet cleaning company that use chemical in a "dry" process as a teenage for several summers and I often get head ache from breathing in the escaped gas.
