Isaac Hayes did not quit "South Park." My sources say that someone quit it for him.

I can tell you that Hayes is in no position to have quit anything. Contrary to news reports, the great writer, singer and musician suffered a stroke on Jan. 17. At the time it was said that he was hospitalized and suffering from exhaustion.

everytime i read something like that i think of the comic that said...

exhaustion...what the hell!! isnt that just being very tired...and isnt the cure...umm rest and sleep?
only celebrities get away with that...imagine an average joe going into the doctor's office or hospital and complaining about about being exhausted...they look at me like i was crazy!

no really im really reaaaaally tired ..i need to be admited right away!

Though I agree, I dont think its a Lindsay Lohan exhaustion case.

Hayes did not suffer paralysis, but the mild stroke may have affected his speech and his memory. He?s been having home therapy since it happened

Though this is only one source so take that with a large grain of salt.

i would think though that if this were the case, his people would have contacted the network and informed them he could no longer coem to work due to his condition and south park creators would know as well and not poke fun of him

Y'know, I'm not usually a big conspiracy theorist, but that was the first thing that popped to mind after I read the episode description and the Fox article... though I'm not sure what the purpose would be (other than the obvious ratings boost from people tuning in to see how they "get back" at Hayes).

Regardless, whatever it is, it's bound to be hilarious.

chambersc:
i seriously doubt its a ploy, cause of the tom cruise getting his panties in a bundle.
The episode will undoubtedly be hilarious.

I liked the Outland comic interpretation of "exhaustion" in the celebrity world - code for "drug overdose." :D

heard on the radio that chef had a stroke in Jan and is home recouping because he is to exhausted to write or talk... A rep from scientology gave the statement on chefs behalf. so basically what ever the rep said is bs

I'd agree that they are going to give Chef hell
[A] network synopsis said the fictional town of South Park, Colorado, is "jolted out of a case of the doldrums when Chef suddenly reappears," leading to new antics by the group of foul-mouthed fourth graders who are the show's stars.

"While Stan, Kyle, Kenny and Cartman are thrilled to have their old friend back, they notice that something about Chef seems different. When Chef's strange behavior starts getting him in trouble, the boys pull out all the stops to save him."
