Bought a whole mocha cheesecake from Cheesecake Factory for $40 and enjoying a slice while all you guys are bitchin Go on....I need some entertainment to go along with my delicious cake.

Cheesecake is like durian, good to enjoy in small portions on occasions. Too much all at once and I just wanna puke.

That isn't made by Alton Brown, it's just a fan made transcript of a show.
This is his site, and I'm sure he knows more about cooking than 99% of the people here. Great show btw.

cake v pie is simple.

if it's baked in a pie pan and has a crust, it's a pie.

if it's baked in a spring-form pan and has no crust, it's a cake.

but at the end of the day, it's all poo

Who says you have to use a pie pan?

Normal pans work as well as pie pans for it.

And there are quite a few cakes with crusts.
