Cheering someone up

lightweight

What is the best way to cheer someone up if a close friend/relative of theirs dies? I've been seeing a girl for about a week and a half, and we've been spending a lot of time together. We have a mutual interest in one another, and mostly all we do is hang out, and watch movies. She has a friend that just passed away recently, and is obviously pretty bummed about it. I would like to do something to cheer her up, or at least show that I care. I went over to spend some time with her the other night, and everything was Ok, but she was definitely bummed. There is really not a whole lot to do in this town.. so I'm not sure where I could take her to cheer her up. Any ideas from fellow ATOTers that have been in a similar situation and can share some words of wisdom?

you could always take advantage of the situation and swoop in and be "the distraction"

... or flowers

Maybe a dinner and movie night to cheer her up. I know that always helps my fiance cheer up when she's upset about something. There really isn't much other than time that can make her feel better permanently though. Just be there for her and do the best you can.

I just text messaged her and asked what she thought about dinner and a movie. Thanks for the good advice 🙂

y not combine the two, flower, dinner, movie, but maybe instead of movie it could be a show, play, or whatever. hope it goes well

He meant the two separate ideas: flowers and dinner and a movie
