Photographer admits prize-winning image was AI-generated

1681905912130.png

"A photographer is refusing a prestigious award after admitting to being a “cheeky monkey” and generating the prize-winning image using artificial intelligence.

The German artist Boris Eldagsen revealed on his website that he was not accepting the prize for the creative open category, which he won at the Sony world photography awards."

^^^ In unrelated news, beloved Omnipotent Overlord Perknose has announced the impending release of provocative (but tasteful!) photos of himself frolicking on the beach with a bevy of comely beauties while clad solely in a skin-colored speedo. Pre-release viewers have left comments such as "An Adonis in spandex" and "I wish to have this man's baby" on the little known yet highly influential forum "All Things Perknose."

Contest needs a new category to keep up with the times, although there also needs to be a certified forensics process to go along with that. I mean, I've never tried AI "photography" but I do admit that it intrigues me enough to take a shot at it in the sense that there may be ways to create hybrid versions that would challenge the artsy fartsy side of a "photographer" like myself.

The way I look at this form of creating images is hey, if there's a challenge to be had that melds tech/emerging tech with traditional legacy methodologies that expands the processes of creativity , then why not? That being said, I'd never cheat my way to a win no matter what the media is but putting that aside, if I can have some fun outside the sandbox exploring new ways to escape the limitations that traditional disciplines place on me I'd at least consider the possibilities.

there is definitely phony light on the back subject. Fingers on the right look like stylized bananas.

Between this and the DrAIke/Weeknd track, it’s been a banner week for AI pushing the limits of artistic expression and copyright law.

Oh, and Midjourney v5 is now available for the masses:

The only reaction I have is can I do the one in the front knowing the one in the back is part of the package? Thinking about what my shadow image would look like I'm thinking probably. You people go to some weird places. Banana fingers, good grief.

Poster was feeling peckish. Finger food is considered elegant.
I suspected as much. I noticed beneath polka-dot spandex, worn for the Adonis shot on you web page, no sign at all of anything resembling a cod piece. A casualty of fish fingers and Hollandaise?

But like I say you people are weird. The only thing I was able to critique was that a lack of brests would not be an impediment. The evidence from your Adonis shot suggests women can be similarly non-judgmental. :)

The light wasn't right on the back face, OMG! I sware, my dick has a higher IQ than most of the posters here.

I just hope nobody takes offense. That's where most of my IQ is.

That's not a speedo and these are not socks.
