Checklist for Europe...

So I'm heading out there come summer time, what sort of things should I need that are obvious and not so obvious?

I'll probably pack with me a laptop, plenty of underwear..and I'm still deciding if I should bring a miniDV camcorder and/or a digital camera (I'd borrow my dad's JVC, otherwise I'll buy a new camera). My friends definitely will have their cameras, and I don't want to have to bring one along if we're going to be taking 3-4 of the same pictures all the time.

A condescending attitude, enough deodorant for all of France, and learn how to ask "Where is the McDonald's, you savage?" in all major languages.

don't forget tshirts with the canadian flag.

how are you traveling, backpacking?

Eurail-ing mostly, I found someone selling a 1st class 15-day flexi-pass for $500 (normal is $900). W00t.

you will need a tranformer if you are taking anything that needs to be plugged in.

How much are those anyway? Most of the stuff I was planning on bringing (charger, laptop) do both modes..but my razor charger doesn't work over there, I was considering just using a good ol' fashioned razor.

In that case I'd use an old-fashioned razor..the only reason I needed my adaptor (they're $20-ish, BTW) was to charge my camera batteries.

Don't bother packing underwear, it's EUROPE!😛 j/k

A lock for your backpack. If you are taking long railtrips. I'd definitely take turns sleeping and a nice pillow for the train is always good. 🙂

Which countries will you be travelling through? I loved Germany's rail system. Hated Italy's trains though.

While a video camera is neat...IMO it is too much of a hastle. However...if each of you used it a bit, it wouldn't be a bad idea.

The inter-rail is a ingenious way to meet people, you meet loads of people on the trains themselves, adventuring people, i know, well actually several, couples that met on interrail, and became Girlfriend/boyfriend(i'm not sure how to say this in english, but wth, you get it... Recomendations?).

hmm
Condoms?
