I moved into an apartment which provides free internet.
They claim its 384kb/s DSL, however my 600-700 kB/s downloads and 1200 kB/s uploads indicate I have much more power than they claim.
However, I just have an ethernet plug in to the wall. I'd like to run a web service for some software I'm writing and I'd like to know how to determine which ports may be open or not in their firewall
Is there any program to determine such things? Like scan through every port and see if I can get a ping back on it?
